Albert A. Callie MD, FAAP
Dr. Albert A. Callie was born in Cincinnati and grew up in Tucson. He earned a cum laude Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology and graduated from University of Arizona College of Medicine in 1994. His pediatric residency training was at University of Michigan Medical Center. He also received the James Matland Simpson Resident Initiative Award for exceptional performance during residency.
Dr. Callie Jr. is the proud father of Ryan, Bryn, Hadley, Cole, and Marlo. He enjoys working on his home, inside and out, playing basketball, mountain biking, and spending time with his family.
Michelle Foth, MD, FAAP
Dr. Michelle Foth was born and raised in San Bernadino, California, in the foothills below Big Bear Mountain. She majored in Biology at UC Riverside and then graduated from Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha. She came to University of Arizona and Tucson for her pediatric residency and decided to stay. Dr. Foth married her high school sweetheart Robert Foth (Math department chair at Pima) and has three children: Abigail, Zachary, and Madeline Dr. Foth has also been busy running the school carnival at Dodge (six years and counting) and as a Band Booster at Tucson High, as PTA president. and as a Girl Scout troop leader. She enjoys waterskiing at Lake Powell.
Nicole Bencs, DNP, RN-BC, CPNP
Dr. Nicole Bencs earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing and Doctorate of Nursing Practice with the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner specialty from the University of Arizona. Prior to her graduate studies, she worked in the acute care pediatric setting and has experience with all ages from newborn to young adult. As a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner she has experience in primary care and urgent care.
Hillary Bravo, DNP, APRN, CPNP-PC
Hillary Bravo DNP, APRN, CPNP-PC is a board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She is a double graduate from the University of Arizona. Hillary graduated from the U of A in 2012 when she obtained her bachelor of science in nursing degree. Hillary has worked in pediatric healthcare in Tucson for more than ten years. Her past experience as an RN includes inpatient pediatrics, outpatient family practice, and outpatient pediatric ENT care. She graduated again from the U of A in 2020 with a doctorate in nursing practice. Hillary has always loved working in the pediatric population and developing relationships with her patients and their families. She decided a career in primary care would be a perfect fit because the care includes well and sick children of all ages. In her free time, Hillary enjoys spending time with her two children and husband, riding bikes, traveling, crafting, and exploring the great city of Tucson.
Albert S. Callie MD, FAAP--emeritus
Born and raised in Bangor, Pennsylvania, Dr. Albert S. Callie attended Muhlenberg College and Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia. He did his residency training at Children's Hospital in Cincinnati before serving as pediatrician at Fort Richie Army Base in Maryland. He and his family then returned to Akron, Ohio, for additional residency training before moving to Tucson in 1971.
Dr. Callie opened his private pediatric practice in 1973. He also worked as a pediatrician at the Myelomenigengocele (Spina Bifida) Children's Rehab Center and St. Elizabeth's Health Center (Catholic Community Services) for 20 years. Dr. Callie and his wife Joyce are the proud parents of 9 children and 11 grandchildren. He is also an avid reader and cyclist.
Integrated Care
Mary Beth Callie, PhD
As Director of Integrated & Whole Person Care, Dr. Mary Beth Callie guides behavioral health integration and the HealthySteps program (since March 2021) and oversee and Quality Assurance. Since writing an honors thesis on Narrative and Medicine as an undergrad (at Holy Cross in Worcester, MA), her journey has come full circle. Dr. Callie earned her interdisciplinary doctorate in Cultural, Media, and Public Policy at UofA. Teaching social justice, media, and civic-focused courses, she was recognized as Faculty Member of the Year and Faculty Advisor of the Year at Regis University (Denver).
Dr. Callie also served as an Associate Producer of Katie Couric’s documentary Fed Up (on childhood obesity, premiered at Sundance). Over the years, she has also worked at Denali National Park and Disneyland, ran the Chicago Marathon two times, and enjoys traveling around the country to cycle rail-trails, explore family history, and visit family and friends.
Elizabeth Denogean is a licensed master social worker (LMSW) at Callie Pediatrics, serving as HealthySteps Specialist. Her lifelong desire to work with young children and parents led her to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services and then a Master's Degree in Social Work. She has over 15 years of experience working with the birth to five population in the child welfare system and six years as an Outpatient Clinical Therapist focusing on child-parent relationship work.
In 2021, Liz completed training in Child Parent Psychotherapy which has led her to develop a trauma-focused/informed lens. She also recently completed training in Perinatal Support, International.As a native Arizonan, Liz is a huge University of Arizona college football and basketball fan.
